Home Videos

I know personally, that home videos are a major part of my families past. My parents would record every little play we acted out, every recital we performed at. As a child I felt like I was on a reality TV show. But now when we go back and watch them, I’ve got to admit that I’m grateful for the videos. Because without them I probably would have forgotten most of the cool things I did as a kid. Of course half of the videos are taped over or were dropped because of all the fun we were having, but in my opinion, that’s all part of the experience. If you haven’t had a video of you taken when your blowing out the candles off of your first as a matter a fact ALL of your birthday cakes, or have a video of a soccer game you were playing at , or just any video of you making a complete fool of you self, then there’s something missing from your childhood.

Have you ever had your parents take a video of you falling so hard its funny? Or of you being scared so badly it hurts? Well I have. And many other people to. We’ve all heard of the show Americas Funniest Home Videos, and to tell you the truth yeah that show is hilarious! I’m just thankful my parents haven’t submitted anything of me and my sisters.

The Wikipedia definition for a home video is a blanket term used for pre-recorded media that is either sold or hired for home entertainment. But I don’t agree with that definition. For one they don’t have to be sold or hired, many of the home videos that my family has recorded are sitting in a box somewhere. Of course that’s telling something, but it still proves the definition wrong.  A home video can be anything from recording your baby’s first step to recording your self trying out a new net gun you bought.

People even publish there home videos online, there are alot of websites where a bunch of people just upload them onto there. Home videos have come to a sort of tradition here at asd. After or even during every assembly some sort of home video is shown . If it was taken at school , or found on the internet.

Since we are in the 21st century. You don’t have to lug around a hug video camera, or take out the tape and buy new ones. You don’t even have to have a tape player. All you need is a computer. Also in the past people would have to show them on slides but now all you have to do is insert the memory card into the computer and your done.

Over all if it wasn’t for home videos I know my life wouldn’t be the same. And I know that a lot of other peoples wouldn’t be either. Just think  about all the memories you’d be forgetting . But instead you can re watch them all you like.
