Slumdog Millionaire

The other day while I was sitting watching TV, a commercial came up for “Slum dog Millionaire”. And I automatically changed the channel. I automatically changed the channel because I’m not really into documentaries and true stories. Later on that week I started to hear people talking about it, so I looked up the trailer and it actually looked interesting. Slum dog Millionaire Trailer .
The main actor who plays the role of Jamal Malik is Dev Patel who hasn’t been in many other famous movies, but I’m sure now he will be a very recognizable actor in the movie business. Dev Patel is a British actor as well as a martial artist. If you’ve watched the movie or have seen previews, you’ve probably noticed the two adorable little boys who play Jamal when he was younger and his brother. Well those adorable kids, who I found to be the best actors in the whole movie, were found off the street and only paid 5 thousand dollars for the challenging work they did. I thought that was unfair, because if an actor from Hollywood had done the amazing job those two little kids did, they would have been paid more than 5 million dollars. But because the kids were uneducated, and didn’t understand that they deserved more than what they got.
Slum Dog Millionaires genre was titled as a Crime, Drama, and Romance. Crime because they thought that Jamal was a criminal and cheated in the game of “Who wants to be a millionaire?” It was also considered a crime movie, because of the Downtown Indian Beggars / Con artists. It was considered a drama, I feel because of the constant dramatic music. And because of the conflict between the host of the “ Who wants to be a millionaire?” It was a romance because of the relationship between Jamal and Latika. Freida Pinto played the part of Latika . Jamal and Latikas relationship was cute but had an expected ending.
Over all I enjoyed the movie and it was worth the watch . I hope you liked my review for the week!
